The Lich's Champion

“The Lich’s Champion” is a 1v1v1v1 2D top down party fighter. Trapped inside the dungeons of a Lich. You are offered two choices, fight and be granted freedom or die trying.  You as the player are one of the four captives held by the all powerful Lich and you are offered the choice of fighting the other three captives to get your freedom to the outside world, or die trying.  As a player, you have the ability to move and dash in all four directions. You have the ability to choose two different unique weapons to battle your opponents. Each weapon has their own attack pattern as well as their own unique special ability. All four players are offered the same weapon selections, it is a matter of player skill to see who comes out on top.  The game is made for a casual audience that doesn’t necessarily have gaming experience. The game is built on the philosophy of easy to pick up and hard to master. With this philosophy it is very clear that we are putting the fun factor over the competitive factor. This does not mean that the game will be very unbalanced. However, we do strive towards a point where the weapons are unbalanced and fun but also feels fair.  For our game aesthetic, we are striving for a dark pixel art aesthetic. Since it will be a top down party fighter, the players will be simple circles moving around the battleground. As for the background we intend to implement a gladiator-like look for the floor to make it look like you’re really stuck in a gritty battle arena.
